First Stippled Daylily of 2010 = Happy Hooligan

Not a full open, and no pollen or pistil, but the stippling is there. Happy Hooligan (Talbott 92, 18EMRe5.5) is a double, and it did rebloom for Cynthia Marriott last year, but not for me. This, Spotted Fever, and Mark's Bouquet are the only stippled doubles I know. Leave me a comment if you know of any others.
Merlot Rouge ffo was yesterday, but this second bloom is more photogenic. Double, Petit 94, 21M5.5 Evr Tet. Does this bloom early for anybody else, or is my siting? (3 foot strip between house and drive gets afternoon sun and heat off west side of house.) No, it's NOT a variegated daylily, it's just next to Kwanso Variegata.

NOT first open (5/30) but these two just begged for a photo op. Hold your Horses is registered as 8 inches, and these are real close! This should be in your garden if it isn't. Trimmer 04, 36EMRe8 Evr Tet. Expensive until last year, but check it out- a couple of suppliers have it at reasonable prices now.

Finally, Musa basjoo made it through the winter with no protection. Last year the mother plant and 3 of 4 offshoots rotted in the wet early spring, even with protection. Philadelphia is at border of Zones 6 and 7, so I think good drainage is probably more important than winter protection here.
