Todaylily is the blog of Terry Oates, past President of Garden State Daylily Growers Club in New Jersey. Terry has since moved from Philadelphia to Verona, PA (Pittsburgh) where he's hybridizing stippled (dotted) and striped daylilies because he likes weird stuff.

Earlybird Daylilies & Radiation Biohazard
Earlybird Orangeade and Earlybird Sunshine clumps (M. Skinner) are bigger and earlier than Stella and Happy Returns. The Earlybird series have Esperanza in their genes.
Radiation Biohazard (Gossard 2000) is NOT usually this early- I got it from Memory Jordan in South Carolina last month. She has a great selection of "best of breed" recent intros, good sized at reasonable prices.
This is my Amaryllis farm- they spend the summer in morning sun, supported by tomato cages. In the background is just-planted hostas, which I protect with "picnic umbrellas" from the party store until their roots get established.
Delaware Valley Hosta Society (website www.delvalhosta.org ) has a leaf show in Wilmington at the library on Foulk Rd. about 2.3 miles south of Naamans Road, 1:30 - 4 Sat. & 1-4 Sunday. Stop in and get out of the heat this weekend. This won't be in the show because I don't know what it is.
