At the last Delaware Valley Hosta Society meeting, Warren Pollock reminded us of the importance of vole control, so I am presenting this quick tutorial; it may be too late this fall for voles to be feeding, but get these ready for early spring when they come out hungry!

Top is the bait; bottom shows two bait station designs, both made of 1.25 inch pvc pipe (some people use 1 inch); at the left is Walter Cullerton's original design, with an alternate version at the right incorporating a tee to drop in and check bait. The ends need to be as close as possible to an existing trail. The elbows keep the bait in the center section. The second photo has nothing to do with voles- this is the first time our jade plant has bloomed and I don't know why this year is different. Any ideas?
