This Time I'm Saving Pollen from Lovely Margie!
Lovely Margie bloomed again today, and the only other Diploid daylily blooming was Mexicali Miss, so I dabbed some pollen on it. The two Mex's looked terrible in the 95 plus degree heat, but Lovely Margie held up beautifully. Note: mine is way lighter than the photo on page 348 of the 2008 Eureka Guide (from Minn.). See prior post for MM & 1st LM pics.
Moonlit Masquerade (Salter 92) attempted 1st bloom today- started blooming even earlier last year. This is widely available for less than $10 and should be in everybody's garden, in my humble opinion. See my earlier February 22, 2008 post for a better photo taken June 9, 2007.
