Variegated Tiger's Eye Bloomed!
My Tiger's Eye Variegated foliage daylily bloomed today, and I confirmed it is the same bloom as the non-variegated clump I found it in, which bloomed yesterday. You can see the variegated leaves just to the left of the petal in the background. Half the leaf is lighter green, less gold than in the spring but still there.
A SMALL group of dedicated GSDG members joined Ralph Maiwaldt this morning to dig plants he is contributing to Daylily Day next Saturday (10-2) at Deep Cut Park.
I saw this container of miniatures at Ralph's and had to share it. MANY thanks to Pat Scarano and John & Mary Lovasz for helping dig! Pat had a wedding to attend in Philadelphia Saturday evening and STILL helped out until noon!
Double Mandarin started blooming today.
Spacecoast Tiny Perfection also started blooming today. A bit "girly" for my taste, but some I grow for the wife even though I prefer the "50 footers" (identifiable from 50 ft.).
