July 2 Favorite First Blooms
All these are first blooms of 2008 today. Brocaded Gown is an oldie and yellow, but I wouldn't be without it.
Avante Garde (Moldovan 86) is just a striking combination of colors.
I love the applique throat on Venetian Magistrate. Munson, 1982.
Spacecoast Carnival is a bit more recent (Kinnebrew 98) but old enough to be reasonably priced. $15 at John Shooter's Marietta Gardens this year, and worth every penny.
My favorite near white (in my garden) is Winter in Eden (Petit 96) because of the diamond dusting which doesn't show up in photos.
